Spring 1997, the DVD player debuts in the U.S.
Netflix honored Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice as their first disc sent out by mail in March 1998. The company thereafter shipped 5+ billion discs worldwide. Mail service ended in 2023. Thank you, Netflix, for lending to the expansion of Quirky Cinema, est. 2012 when Netflix's DVD library included 100,000 titles.
